The University Archivist supports the mission of the Martha Blakeney Hodges Special Collections and University Archives (SCUA) Department of the University Libraries by being the primary overseer of archives and material endearing to the history of the University and the community. The University Archives houses the University's records, the Women Veterans Historical Project and the manuscripts collections and is part of a larger department (SCUA) that also includes special collections and rare books, which specializes in women's literature, cello music and manuscripts, and books documenting trade binding and other book arts.
Reporting to the Head of Special Collections and University Archives, this position will supervise a unit of professional and paraprofessional employees and provide policy evaluation and guidance. An ALA accredited MLS degree is required. Management experience in an archival environment, including demonstrated leadership in achievement of intermediate goals and establishment of realistic priorities, is also required.

Reference Librarian (Sciences) Joyner Library East Carolina University

Hours
This is a full-time position. Some evening and Saturday hours may be required.
Duties
The Reference Services Specialist reports directly to the librarian. Duties will include but not necessarily be limited to:
- Provide proactive reference assistance to students in using library resources. Refer difficult reference requests to the library director as needed.
- Participate in both formal (group) and informal bibliographic instruction regarding all library resources with students.
- Supervise all inter-library loan functions.
- Help oversee circulation activities to ensure that materials are accounted for properly (this includes oversight of student workers)
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills Needed
- Ability to interact with students and faculty in a friendly manner.
- Attention to detail in all aspects of work.
- Strong computing skills required – no exceptions. Experience with MS Word, Excel, and other MS Office programs strongly preferred.
- Ability to perform multiple kinds of duties within one day with frequent interruptions.
- Willingness to learn new skills as necessary.
- Some familiarity with theological resources, preferably in the Presbyterian and Evangelical tradition.
- Though the MLIS is not required for this position, some academic library experience is preferred.

The University Libraries have established a two-year Post MLS Diversity Residency program to further increase the diversity of our professional staff while fostering the growth and development of a new librarian. The purpose of the Residency is to attract a recent graduate to the challenging and rewarding career of academic librarianship. Health Sciences Reference Librarian - Clemson University
Clemson University seeks a dynamic and creative Librarian who will provide information services to faculty and students in nursing and the health science disciplines, which may include pre-professional health science, food science and nutrition, and packaging science.
Position Responsibilities
In the specified subject specialties:

University Collections Manager - Furman University
The University Collections Manager is a half-time position responsible for all aspects of collections management for the decorative and fine arts belonging to Furman University. This includes participating in the University's decision-making process to accept or reject donations, accessioning and deaccessioning materials, cataloguing, managing the inventory and PastPerfect database, reviewing and obtaining insurance and appraisals, and following other procedures outlined in the collections management policy. The University Collections Manager is also responsible for collections stewardship, including the overall physical care, preservation, security, and promotion of the decorative and fine arts collections. Promotion of the collections includes design and installation of exhibitions, negotiation and administration of loans, and the creation of educational and community lectures and programs.
Work Schedule:

Qualifications

Excellent organizational, interpersonal and public speaking skills and the ability to perform both independently and as part of a team. Web Services Librarian
The University of South Carolina School of Medicine Library seeks an energetic, service-oriented professional for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position as Web Services Librarian.
The Web Services Librarian coordinates the design, development, and maintenance of web presences for the School of Medicine Library, the School of Medicine Ultrasound Institute, and the Society of Ultrasound in Medical Education. Responsibilities:
- Manages audio/visual holdings in department’s collections, including analog and digital film, video, audio, and photographic materials
- Works with colleagues in department to ensure proper storage and handling of audio/visual materials
- Provides guidance for preservation of and access to audio/visual materials, including film, video, photographic, and audio materials
- Seeks out and applies for external funding to pursue preservation and access projects for audio/visual materials
- Manages Oral History Collection. Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- evaluating methods to organize and provide accessibility to the collection;
- coordinating continued development and maintenance of the New South Voices oral history database and general web pages for the Oral History Collection and for other collections as assigned, working closely with the Library Webmaster and the digital services librarian;
- establishing priorities for collecting interviews and identifying potential interviewees
- advising individuals outside the department on all aspects of developing and managing oral history projects and on technical details involving equipment, etc.
- supervising part-time workers.
- Actively promotes use of all the department’s collections by seeking out university faculty and students, historic site and museum personnel, and members of the scholarly community and general public who could benefit from the department’s services.
- Provides instructional classes on campus and makes presentations to non-university groups, incorporating the advantages of technology with traditional techniques.
- Prepares displays, including exhibits on the Web.
- Shares responsibility for reference service in Special Collections on a more or less equal basis with other department faculty and staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Master's degree in Library and Information Science from a program accredited by the American Library Association or other relevant master's degree required
- One to three years of professional level experience, in special collections departments in libraries or archives, or equivalent combination of specialized training through formal education and internships.
Experience:
- Demonstrable experience working with film, video, photographic, and/or audio materials
- Demonstrable experience with digital video and audio equipment, files and formats, compression codecs, and web delivery
- Demonstrable experience in the application of metadata standards such as Dublin Core, AACR2/MARC, TEI, or EAD
- Demonstrable experience in the design and creation of web pages
- Demonstrable experience with digitization issues, processes, and techniques.
- Demonstrable experience in organizing materials, establishing intellectual control, and providing access through the use of appropriate standards in information technology.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Attributes:
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently and collaboratively as a member of a group in a changing environment
- Working knowledge of preservation best practices and standards for film, video, photographic, and audio materials
- Thorough knowledge of principles, practices, and trends in archival administration and in historical scholarship, methodology, and the use of sources.
- Ability to relate to users at a variety of educational levels.
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting unit policies and procedures.
- Record of successful performance of duties in prior job(s).
- Knowledge of the history of North Carolina or the South preferred.
- Ability to climb ladders and to lift boxes weighing up to 40 lbs. to retrieve materials for researchers.
- Evidence of professional growth and mastery of ASERL competencies relevant to the specific job assignment.

First Year Instruction Coordinator and Reference Librarian - UNCG

Instruction Coordinator. The Reference and Instructional Services
Department is responsible for designing web resources and for providing

support staff to provide reference services and information literacy
programs. Working with the Department's Information Literacy
Coordinator, this position will assume primary responsibility for
planning and implementing first year information literacy programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide general and specialized reference service via Reference Desk, telephone, email, group and local chat, etc.
Participate in evening and weekend staffing rotation

Provide library instruction
Develop appropriate instructional aids (handouts, web pages, tutorials, etc.)

Review and select approval plan titles and titles from appropriate reviewing sources, catalogs, and acquisitions lists
Coordinate with the faculty liaison for the Belk College of Business in receiving faculty requests for print and electronic resources
Recommend agenda items and participate in Reference Unit meetings
Advance initiatives by Reference Unit, Information Commons, Atkins Library and UNC Charlotte
Communicate effectively with others within and beyond the Library and the University
Participate in relevant professional activities and in Library and University faculty governance
Perform other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s degree in Library Science from a program accredited by the American Library Association required
Undergraduate degree in a business-related field preferred; advanced degree in a business-related field preferred
EXPERIENCE
Two years reference experience, including experience with electronic resources, in an academic library preferred
Business-related experience preferred
