MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE 2004 ANNUAL REPORT

October 29, 2004

During the year, letters of appeal for membership renewals were mailed in February, May and August. A short article was written for the October issue of the Newsletter as the final reminder or call for membership. As a result, and as of Monday, October 24, there were 547 current members and 67 renewals for 2005. Strategic letter-writing and reminders have all served to help increase the membership.

The committee met at the March 6, 2004 retreat and outlined plans for the year. In addition, issues were addressed through e-mails. It was noted there is a discrepancy in the entitlements for Institutional and
Sustaining Members (see Handbook, p.11, and “Call to Conference-Membership Application”) and this will be addressed by the Committee. Also, membership cards were designed and issued to members and the 10% savings for those who join or renew by the end of the conference was approved.
