collaborative, innovative and service-oriented Librarian with strong
open-source programming skills to serve as the Systems Librarian for the Z.
Smith Reynolds Library.&nbsp; The Systems Librarian will design, implement, and
manage software to extend and integrate commercial, open source, and locally
developed software.&nbsp; This position will be central in the development and
implementation of next generation information systems to accomplish the
library&#8217;s goal of migrating to open source environments. The Systems Librarian
performs system analysis and application development to facilitate the use of
technology in the library; manages the Integrated Library System and consults
and collaborates with faculty and staff on library information technology
initiatives.&nbsp; This Librarian will also provide support to faculty, staff
and students on library-related systems, software, and hardware<a name=jgzh8></a>;
provide user instruction for the students, faculty, and University community
and serve as the library liaison and subject specialist for departments as
needed.&nbsp; This is a twelve month position, with Library Faculty status and
rank and reports to the Assistant Head for Technology Services.<span
