<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:12.0pt'>Dear FLLAN members,<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>For one year only, Library Advocacy Day will replace
National Library Legislative Day (NLLD). The date has been changed to
June 29, 2010, and library advocates from all 50 states will meet at Upper
Senate Park on the U.S. Capitol grounds. The event, which will
begin at 11:00 a.m., will feature guest speakers, photo ops, and a chance to
cheer on libraries! After the rally, participants will meet with their
elected officials and their staffs.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:#1F497D'><br>
</span>To make this event a success, we will need NLLD coordinators’ and
FLLAN’s help. As with NLLD, we’ll still need NLLD
coordinators’ assistance to coordinate their state’s activity and
to set up meetings in Congressional offices. The states with the most
people will be featured front and center, commitment…which means they are
the ones that will be in the majority of pictures. We also need to need a
renewed to getting more advocates involved. This is an exciting, one-time
opportunity that we hope will help us build wider NLLD participation in the years
to come.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><br>
More details will be on their way in the next month, so please stay tuned!<o:p></o:p></p>
