Conquering the world one
hashtag at a time!

#SSNS is a meeting on the
application of on-line social networking to the arts, humanities & business
being held January 6 and 7, 2010 in Greenville, South Carolina at the Hyatt
Regency. Detailed information about the program and schedule can be found at http://www.sibaweb.com/ssns.

The Summit is a collaborative
effort between SIBA and other arts organizations, nonprofits, bookstores and
marketing entities with the stated goal of using social media more
cooperatively and effectively to increase audiences and constituencies, and
better respond to the changing environment and trends in the communities they
serve. Among the questions being asked and addressed:

How does an organization make
time for social media networking, and which are the best fit for the
organization’s mission? What marketing partnerships are available and how does
an organization incorporate them into social media marketing? What new trends
are on the horizon, and how do you take advantage of new trends when you have
small staffs (and smaller budgets)? How do we move the conversation from
insiders to outsiders?

The Summit program includes
both presentations and extensive “brainstorming” sessions, and features several
high-profile speakers who have gained reputations for their effective use of
social media: Gary Vaynerchuck, aka “The Wine Guy,” who leveraged social
media tools such as Twitter and Facebook to promote Wine Library TV, his video
blog about wine, into a viewership of over 80,000 per day. David Allen,
a leading authority on personal and organizational productivity and author of Getting
Things Done, which Time Magazine labeled as "the defining
self-help business book of the decade." Dan Zarrella, an expert on
viral marketing and regular contributor to Wired, The Wall Street
Journal, Mashable and TechCrunch, and author of The Social Media
Marketing Book.
